OSCP Certified!

Finally after 1 year 3 months and 2 attempts, I am proud to announce that I am now an Offensive Security Certified Professional!

My first attempt was on the 22nd of May 2020 which I did not make the cut.

I had to wait for one month after my first failed attempt before I can re-take the exam as per cooling off policy which came into effect on the 17th of January 2020.

My second attempt was on the 2nd of July 2020 which went better than my first attempt but I was sure I would fall short of the points required to pass.

It is because (not including the lab report) I only manage to fully compromise 3 boxes and partially one 1 which equates to roughly 65 points. Not really ideal in my opinion as it leaves no leeway for any mistakes!

Submitted my exam report + lab report on the 3rd of July and begins the nail-biting wait for the results.

Fast forward a couple of days later, I was lying down in bed ready to go to sleep when I received an email from OffSec and I thought to myself “Oh shit… I am sure this email is my exam results”.

I took a deep breath and opened the email. The first few words I saw were “We are happy to inform you…” and then followed by my full name in Red. That’s when I knew I had passed!

First thing I did as soon as I got that email was to claim my digital badge from Acclaim. The digital badge is on top of the physical certificate and a card.

Now that I am done with one of the more difficult certification, I will be dedicate more time in uplifting my blog and I will also be posting some OSCP related stuff (without breaking NDA of course) so stay tuned.
