I have been catching the live streaming of Cisco Live 2017 last week to see what Cisco Live is all about and boy was I impressed!
The keynote speech by Chuck Robbins of Cisco had so much flashing lights and Thunder from Imagine Dragons playing on a loop it felt like a pastor of a megachurch delivering his sermon!
That aside, my key takeaway from catching the keynotes and innovation showcase live stream are:
- SDN (Intent-driven Network Automation, Data analytics and intelligence) is the future
- Security will form the core (baked right into) of all future Cisco products rather than an add-on
- Internet-of-Things (IoT)
A colleague of mine shared with me his experience attending Cisco Live US many moons back and told me that Cisco Live US is bigger than any other Cisco Live held in other countries. Judging by what I have seen on the live stream, Cisco Live is not an event where IT professionals gather to have a good time but also to network, upskill and learn about emerging technologies
It has always been a wish of mine to attend a tech conference. So who knows… I may attend Cisco Live US in 2018… =)
