After close to 4 weeks of no updates, here it is; the study materials that I use to prep for my CCNA Wireless exam.
I use the CCNA Wireless 200-355 Official Cert Guide by Cisco Press as my primary study material. The contents in the official cert guide mirrors the CCNA Wireless syllabus exactly, so it is the perfect place to start your CCNA Wireless certification journey regardless of weather you are new to the world of enterprise wireless network or a seasoned professional acquiring new knowledge.
Even though each topic is in-depth especially those covering RF principles, the concepts are explained in a clear and concise manner with helpful (blue-ish) diagrams. As a result, I don’t find myself referring to additional online reading materials as often as when I was studying for my Routing & Switching exam. However, please bear in mind that your mileage may vary.
In the book, there is also start of chapter review questions which is a good way for you to test your knowledge of that particular topic. I will not be surprised if similar questions were to appear in the exam!
The CCNA Wireless also requires you to know how to perform basic configuration on a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and a Cisco Autonomous Access Point. This part is pretty much easy for me as I already have access to Cisco 5508 Wireless LAN Controllers, Aironet 3600i (AIR-CAP3602I-N-K9) Access points and Cisco Prime 3.0 at work.
For those who do not have access to these equipment, it going to be tricky as you will need to be familiar with menu options present in the WLC/AP GUI and where to go to configure stuff but if you have got a friend who is a network engineer, you could… I am leaving this to your interpretation. =)
